Meet Cheryl Schnabolk
I am a licensed therapist with 12 years of experience working with teens, adults, families, and couples. I believe in creating a unique and tailor made therapeutic approach for all clients. I provide a warm, empathetic, and a safe environment to work through life’s challenges. I utilize a solution focused approach, employing practical methods that address the challenges you are currently navigating.
I have a varied & diverse background in numerous modalities and with varied populations. Having worked with adult inpatient, DCP&P, and outpatient clients 8 -89 yrs old with a myriad of challenges I have a unique perspective and method. My approach is patient, compassionate, real, and attentive.
If you are struggling with issues that have prevented you from living your best life, I encourage you to reach out. Together we can begin to work through life's challenges, create meaningful obtainable goals, establish healthy coping strategies and find the path to your happiness.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) committed to providing counseling in a safe and nurturing environment. I work from a strength based perspective where the patient's strengths are used to create a meaningful and lasting change.
In addition to working with clients and their families, when needed and with client's consent, I also work with outside agencies, doctors, schools, etc., in an effort to coordinate care and help clients reach their maximum potential.
Our first few sessions are an opportunity for the client and therapist to build trust, establish rapport, and gain an understanding of the challenges you are facing. This is used to create meaningful goals.
In general, I work from a cognitive behavioral framework with elements of solution focused and strength based models. We work together to understand the origins of the distress you are facing, implement goals to cope with the challenge, and explore coping techniques so that you are armed with the skills to independently manage those triggers in the future.
A variety of support groups are offered throughout the year addressing the social emotional needs of young adults, teens, and adults.
